IT’S A SCAM!
Microsoft will never ever call you to either help you fix your computer or to tell you have a virus. I see this everyday, unfortunately it’s after the deed has been done. We are wired as humans to believe authoritative figures especially the ones on screens. This may go back to the early days of television when Walter Cronkite said it was so it was so. Times have changed and people are taking advantage of that.
Tech Tip – If this happens to you. Take a deep breath and simply unplug your computer and hang up the phone.
